Vintage Mid-Century Modern Modular Freestanding Wall Unit with Desk & Drawers
Large vintage mid-century modern freestanding modular wall unit with a mix of open shelving, drawer storage, a writing desk, and an enclosed upper cabinet. The dark wood frame contrasts with the white drawer fronts and black-and-white round pulls. The shelving and storage components can be repositioned along the upright supports, allowing the layout to be configured in different ways.
A great all-in-one piece for books, objects, records, storage, or a home office. The open-frame design has a similar look to Scandinavian modular wall systems of the period, including Cado-style units, though the maker of this example is unknown. No makers mark.
Dimensions: 99.24”W x 16.125”D x 76”H
Desk depth is 13”D
Condition: This piece is shown in its current condition and will be reconditioned after purchase to meet our excellent vintage condition standards while preserving its vintage character. If purchasing as-is, this piece is in used-vintage condition with signs of wear and use visible throughout. Scattered throughout there are scratches, scuffs, edgewear, dents/dings, worn finish, and some chips in the veneer throughout. The drawer fronts have been painted white at some point in this piece’s lifetime. There are scratches and scuffs on the white paint, as photographed. The four shelves currently on the right side are not original and look to be homemade (they are a different finish than the original pieces). The original sliding doors of the top cupboard section are missing. Is free standing but, I would recommend bracing it to the wall for greater stability, although it's not necessary. This piece could be used as-is but we recommend restoration and refinishing. Please see photos for full condition details.
