Reconditioning

We pride ourselves on carefully reconditioning each and every item that goes out the door. We value the historic character of the items but also understand the desire and need to restore pieces or portions of them to allow for them to be used again and shine in their setting as they deserve to. With that philosophy in mind, upon sale, we carefully assess what level of reconditioning is needed. Depending on the piece it can range anywhere from updating a dull finish to full refinishing of a piece including removing scratches and dents, rebuilding chipped corners, repairing wood chips, stripping paint etc.

As a small company we are currently not able to refinish pieces prior to sale - all product pictures show items in their "as is" condition. However, pricing includes reconditioning to a good vintage condition. Given that items are vintage we don't guarantee nor do we believe in refinishing to appear as if pieces are brand new. In our mind, part of the charm is the history and character of a piece that it carries with it.

Refinishing after the sale also allows us to be able to customize the color and sheen to a certain degree. If you are looking to match a piece to existing wood furniture in the house please let us know and we can discuss if that is something we can achieve during reconditioning process.
