Mid-century modern walnut table lamp by Modeline with enamel and burlwood panel detailing, designed by John Keal in 1959.

The open walnut frame gives it that light, architectural silhouette Modeline did so well, while the inset panel adds a really unexpected pop of color and texture. The enamel has this almost lava-glaze look with saturated oranges, blues, and olive tones floating across the surface, contrasted against the warm walnut and burlwood backing.

Tall and narrow with a long cylindrical shade, it has a strong vertical presence without feeling bulky. One of those lamps that reads sculptural even when it’s turned off.

shade is 18”W x 22”H

Condition: This piece remains in its original vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age and will be sold as is. There are some scratches, dents and scuffs throughout the body of the lamp. The brass has patina and oxidation from age. The shade has dimples and minor dents.  This Lamp is in working condition.  Please see photos for condition details.
