Herman Miller Eames Compact Sofa in Cobalt Blue, 2006

Designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, the Eames Compact Sofa pairs a clean, slim profile with a surprisingly generous three-seat design. This 2006 example features vibrant cobalt blue upholstery with a high back, tailored seat cushion, and the sofa’s distinctive folded back construction. A black metal frame and polished aluminum legs keep the profile light and elevated. Originally designed in the 1950s, the Compact Sofa was created to provide full-size seating with a much smaller visual footprint. Its high upholstered back folds forward for easier moving and storage, a clever feature that gives the Eames Compact Sofa its name. Condition: This piece remains in its original vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age and will be sold as is. Please see photos for condition details. As-is this sofa is in good used condition with age-appropriate wear. The blue upholstery shows some scattered marks, light discoloration, and areas of wear from use, most noticeably across the seat. The metal frame and legs show minor surface scratches and scuffs. Structurally sound and comfortable with no major damage noted. Please see photos for details.
